Chris Serle, in this week's exploration into the biggest film and videotape library in the world, discovers what transport means to Robbie and a flying boat, Basil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers and a Weed in The Flowerpot Men. There's classic comedy from Sykes and a Bus and a Bus Strike in 1946 that seems like a holiday. From Nationwide there's a vicar with a wheelbarrow, and even a Churchmobile. There's trouble on a train in Telegoons: The Hastings Flier with the voices of Peter Sellers , Harry Secombe and Spike Milligan. Guest traveller Alan Whicker tells tales of Tonight, when he was Whicker Down Under, and of the time he stopped a train in Whicker on Top of the World. You can even prove that dogs on skateboards go in anything but straight lines. Producer MIKE SEDDON

Jonathan Miller talks to eminent psychologists -
12 people who contribute in very different ways to our understanding of the human mind.
The act of painting a scene is normally imagined to be an exercise in manual dexterity. There is, however, a great deal more to drawing or painting than the simple
'copying' of a visual image on to paper or canvas. Sir Ernst Gombrich , author of Art and Illusion, has spent his life exploring the psychological processes which underlie the making of pictures.

'There's no place in England for a coward', young Harry Faversham is told by a nostalgic General Burroughs. Ten years later Harry and his three boyhood friends ready themselves to fight under Kitchener in Egypt. But
Harry believes he should stay and care for his wife and receives a white feather from each of his comrades. To prove them wrong he departs for the desert, in disguise.... This magnificent epic recreates great battle scenes in turn-of-the-century Egypt.

Shortgrass Country
Southern Saskatchewan is Canada's 'shortgrass country', a northerly extension of the great prairie that spans the length of the United States.
To the casual eye the thin veneer of windswept grass may seem deserted, but even in the biting depths of winter there is life here ... the porcupine, the prairie hare, the pronghorn antelope. In the warmth of spring the prairie comes alive.
Snow-melt waters a bloom of flowers, ground squirrels and prairie dogs emerge from their burrows, horned larks proclaim their territories ... and over them all hawks and falcons ride the one element that dominates shortgrass country, the wind.

The eighth of 12 films about life in the Soviet Union. Office on the Pacific
Nakhodka lies at the end of the Trans-Siberian Railway, 6,000 miles and seven time zones from Moscow.
At 33, Tatyana Naumova is
Town Council Secretary and a leading Communist Party activist. Her task is to chase inefficient managers and bungling bureaucrats, and to deal with the public's complaints about housing and social services in this
Pacific port. She also runs the Palace of Weddings, where Soviet couples are ceremonially joined together, with all the trimmings, once every ten minutes. Tatyana's own marriage and her two young daughters are not allowed to interrupt her workaholic routine or to diminish her ambition. As she says: 'Every soldier dreams of becoming a general'.
