with Gloria Jean
When young Patricia Johnson 's father is killed in an accident, Buzz' Blackwell and two friends adopt her.
They leave San Francisco for New York in the hope of depositing Patricia with some rich relatives. Unfortunately the uncle and aunt have no such plans. Crosby is in fine form in a film where the accent is as much on comedy as on music.
Screenplay by WILLIAM CONSELMAN and JAMES V KERN. Music by JAMES V. MONACO Lyrics by JOHNNY BURKE

Anna Raeburn 's City Walk
The first of six British walks. Minarets, gibbon monkeys and Dilberta, the baby elephant, surround Anna Raeburn at the start of her walk. 'It's the contrasts of London I like so much,' she says as she moves from the comparative calm of Regent's Park towards the bustling noisy streets. 'I am no more likely to be defeated by the city than by a machine. It's man-made and therefore man-manageable.'
For Anna a city provides a challenge to be enjoyed. Director ANDREW MITCHELL Producer MIKE WEATHERLEY

Sick written by BEN ELTON, RIK MAYALL, LISE MAYER
A psychological British war film set in the Sahara Desert. Hugh Freganotte 's sombre Western is diversely episodic but the locations admirably sustain the journey. Like an old favourite shoe: not brilliant but sturdy. Pauline Melville makes a splendid quiche.
