The Story of Margaret Watkins
In 1928 Margaret Watkins was one of the world's leading photographers, her work acclaimed from New York to Tokyo. Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, she left her New York apartment and moved to an old house in Glasgow's West End. She drew the curtains - and was not to venture outside for the last 40 years of her life.
After her death her photographs were about to be burned as rubbish. Saved by a neighbour, these are now fetching thousands of dollars - as well as revealing some of Margaret Watkins's deeper and more mysterious imaginings...
