The last in this series of Arena films about the life and work of George Orwell begins with the tragic death of his wife Eileen in March 1945. Overcome with grief, and despair at the future for Britain, he retreated to the remote Hebridean island of Jura. There, crippled with tuberculosis and isolated from the rest of the world, he wrote his last novel, Nineteen-Eighty-four, a nightmare vision of a totalitarian future.
Among those appearing are Avril Dunn, Bill Dunn, Susan Watson, Sonia Orwell and Richard Blair

Land of Ice and Fire The first explorers to penetrate beyond the headwaters of the Missouri brought back tales of a strange land - of valleys that seemed to smoke and burn perpetually, and of a river that never froze, even in the hardest winter.
That land is Yellowstone, America's oldest National
Park. Two-and-a-half million visitors flock there each summer -but in winter the park takes on another face that most never see. Bison huddle in the warmth of the hot springs, trumpeter swans congregate on the ice-free pools of the Firehole River, and the steam vents and geysers attain a new beauty in the frozen air.
