Hank Martin is - seemingly - a 'little' man, a backwoods pedlar whose slogan is 'You name it, I've got it'. But Hank is ambitious and dedicated to the poor people he lives and works with. As he rises to power he becomes corrupted by those he fights against. James Cagney gives one of his most dynamic performances in this vivid portrait of local politics.

Written by Ken Russell and Eric Fenby from "Delius as I Knew Him" by Eric Fenby
Omnibus presents Ken Russell's award-winning film about the blind composer Frederick Delius and the young Scarborough organist Eric Fenby.
In the late 1920s Fenby read about Delius's plight. Blind and paralysed, the composer could no longer see his score paper or hold a pen. Fenby offered his services and to his amazement his offer was accepted. This programme tells the story of Fenby's five years in the bizarre Delius household and of the enormous obstacles that were overcome before Fenby finally helped Delius to complete several major works including A Song of Summer
Ken Russell's film, which won a golden award at the Prague International Television Festival, was first shown on Omnibus in 1968. It is now repeated to mark the 50th anniversary of Delius's death.
