The demise of Hal's mum is the signal for the bereaved Hal and his friend Dennis to carry out their long-planned robbery of the bank next door to the undertaker. The robbery proves simple, but it's when they try to stash the ' loot' and Mrs McLeavy in the same coffin that things go chaotically wrong. Richard Attenborough heads a fine cast in this colourful version of Joe Orton 's outrageous comedy.
