The fourth of a series of six films about sixth-formers. Bernard Turnbull
Matthew Boulton Technical College,
Birmingham BERNARD TURNBULL is an unusual sixth former - he is 30 years old.
He left school at 16 and worked his way up to be a sales manager before realising that ideas interested him more than profits. So now he wants to study for a university degree, but first he has one year at technical college in which to get the necessary A-level passes.
Bernard believes that education means more than passing examinations. As President of the Students' Union he helps to organise social activities which provide a meeting place outside the classroom for the college's 7,000 students.
