The John Player League Surrey v Glamorgan
Surrey are enjoying success this season, highly placed in the County Championship, new holders of the Benson and Hedges Cup and, while well up the League table, seem now to have too much to do to be in the prize money. Their visitors to The Oval today have not enjoyed the same measure of success but League cricket throws up many an entertaining surprise.
During the tea interval at 4.10* Talking Cricket
Under the main stand at The Oval there is a small room known as the Print Shop where score-cards of many memorable matches have been produced. From there JOHN MCQUIRKE and REG RADLEY reminisce with JIM LAKER.
PETER WALKER introduces the programme which includes news of today's other matches. Commentators at The Oval JOHN ARLOTT and JIM LAKER

Big Cats
Narrated by TOM FLEMING
Siberian tigers fighting three men at a time; cuddly kittens but with vicious claws; mountain lions being lowered 60 feet down trees; lions killing goats and buffaloes in India-where most of us think there aren'any lions. The big cats' problems come mostly from the beauty of their coats, which in turn make coats for society ladies. But large predators don'mix well with people or farming either, and so these fine creatures are under pressure throughout the world. This film shows some of the measures being taken to conserve them.

Devised and introduced by John Amis
Francis Poulenc , one of the French composers in the group known as Les Six, died 11 years ago. His music displays two aspects of his character: the charmer of 1920s Paris and the serious side of his later choral works. His life and music are recalled by baritone Pierre Bernac and fellow members of the group Darius Milhaud , who died recently, and Georges Auric
GEORGINA PARKINSON dances the Adagietto from Les Biches; excerpts from Poulenc's work are played by jacques FÉVRIER (piano), ROBERT CASlER (oboe) and GERARD FAISANDIER (baSSOOn). STEPHEN VARCOE (baritone) and JONATHAN ALDER (piano), JENNIFER SMITH (soprano) and JOHN FRASER (piano) take part in a master-class. Film editor PETER WEST
Director DENIS MORIARTY
