The first of three programmes in which
Thomas Hemsley works with young professional singers on some of the songs of great German composers. Tonight: Schumann JOHN KINGSLY SMITH sings a group of songs from Dichterliebe, and ANN MURRAY sings two songs from Liederkreis Op 39.
Hemsley, who has sung as principal baritone in most of the German opera houses, is also one of the world's best lieder singers.
