Full House presents a special programme on Kurt Vonnegut Jr

Kurt Vonnegut, described by Graham Greene as 'one of the best living American writers,' is known to English audiences as the author of Slaughterhouse Five. He is something of a rarity - a science fiction writer with a literary reputation.

The first part of tonight's programme is a conversation between Adrian Mitchell, the poet, and Vonnegut, filmed on his last visit to Britain.

Part 2 is a 75-minute film based on Vonnegut's work called "Between Time and Timbuktu." It was written specially by him for National Educational Television, the American network.
Stoney Stevenson is an astronaut who is launched from Cape Kennedy and sent into a 'time warp.'

And in part 3 Vonnegut talks about his new book, about other writers and about the influence he is supposed to wield over the American young.
