A personal journey across four continents.

No figure of imagination, no description of enchantment, can equal in imagery the vista of these great basins (2nd Lt Gustavus C. Doane, 2nd US Cavalry, Sept 1870)
Soon after that vivid comment was made the US Congress decided that the natural wonders of the Yellowstone area in the Rocky Mountains should be preserved permanently as a National Park. This year the world's first National Park is 100 years old, and in September delegates from 90 countries "will meet there to discuss mutual problems and plans.

(A Compadecida)
starring Armando Bogus, Antonio Fagundes

The first of six films in a summer selection comes from Brazil and has never been shown in Britain. George Jonas's first feature based on Ariano Suassuna's internationally acclaimed play is a mixture of puppet show, miracle play, commedia dell'arte, and circus - a biting social satire set in the sertoes, the barren northern part of Brazil.
