Great Parks of the World: 6: Yellowstone, USA

on BBC Two England

with Anthony Smith
A personal journey across four continents.

Soon after that vivid comment was made the US Congress decided that the natural wonders of the Yellowstone area in the Rocky Mountains should be preserved permanently as a National Park. This year the world's first National Park is 100 years old, and in September delegates from 90 countries "will meet there to discuss mutual problems and plans.
