Soon after that vivid comment was made the US Congress decided that the natural wonders of the Yellowstone area in the Rocky Mountains should be preserved permanently as a National Park. This year the world's first National Park is 100 years old, and in September delegates from 90 countries "will meet there to discuss mutual problems and plans.
