At the age of 80 the sculptor Jacques Lipchitz is still working with undiminished energy. He is, as he says, 'not 80 years old, just four times twenty.'
Born, like Chagall, into a Jewish community in Tsarist Russia, he made his name in the brilliant world of pre-war Paris. Since 1941 he has lived in the USA, but this film also shows him at work in Italy.
Lipchitz looks back on his life and work and talks with humour and insight about his lifelong pursuit of artistic freedom.
Cliff Michelmore covers the world of motoring
with Barrie Gill, Michael Frostick, Gordon Wilkins
Tonight a preview of the National Motor Museum which the Duke of Kent is due to open at Beaulieu in Hampshire next Tuesday. Lord Montagu describes this million-pound monument to the motor car. All the great moments and big names in 75 years of motoring history have their place here.
Tonight's programme, the last of the present series, ends with a question. How much of the freedom which the motor car has won since the days of the red flag must be given up in the years ahead, to preserve some peace and safety in our towns?
