On a hillside in north India a corpse cooks slowly on an open fire. At a Surrey crematorium the nasty side of death is tucked out of sight behind the rose bushes in the garden of remembrance.
But the programme is not just about cremations and funerals. In some places the ghosts of the dead have a spirited afterlife. In Botswana a witch doctor dances; in New Guinea a sorcerer fights a duel with a nasty-minded ghost. In Colne, Lancashire, they erect memorials and put flowers on the grave. In the New Territories of Hong Kong they burn paper money and incense to help the dear departed on their way.
Six different approaches to death in the last of the series.
