By the end of 1970 there could be a million more cars on the roads of Britain. Already there are more than 60 vehicles for every mile of our crowded public highways.
What does the New Year hold in store for people with a car? Bigger bills for petrol, more parking meters, stiffer breathaliser laws? Or are there brighter hopes for easier hire purchase and new motorways? The Director-General of the AA, Mr Alec Durie, is among contributors to a survey of motoring prospects in Britain over the next 12 months.
