The Final Test Match: South Africa v. The British Lions
Cliff Morgan reports from Johannesburg.
Ellis Park, Johannesburg, is the largest Rugby stadium in the world and just over 100,000 people are expected to this the last match of the 1968 British Lions tour.
It is thirty years since the British Lions won a final test in South Africa. The present team has been playing rugby since last September and, understandably, will be feeling the strain of such a long period without a rest. But they will no doubt reflect that for three months they will have experienced one of the greatest honours any British rugby player would wish to achieve - to play for his country in an overseas tour.
