5/5. Late Works. Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel was 40 before she published her music under her own name. The acclaim she received encouraged her to tackle one of her finest works, the Piano Trio in D minor. For Clara Schumann after her husband Robert's breakdown and death, and once she resumed her career as a concert pianist, she more-or-less stopped composing and concentrated instead on championing her husband's music in her programmes. With Donald Macleod. Repeated from Friday at 12 noon
