The acclaim she received encouraged her to tackle one of her finest works, the Piano Trio in D minor. For Clara Schumann after her husband Robert's breakdown and death, and once she resumed her career as a concert pianist, she more-or-less stopped composing and concentrated instead on championing her husband's music in her programmes.
