John Surman
Jez Nelson presents a solo concert recording by British saxophonist John Surman. One of the few British jazz musicians who have made a career on the international stage, Surman has nevertheless maintained a style heavily rooted in the English folk and church music of his youth. Tonight's concert sees him play a rare solo date originally broadcast only in part last March from Gateshead International Jazz Festival. This programme features his complete performance.
