The story of Brazil's popular music revolution of the 1960s, which was played out on television talent shows against the backdrop of an oppressive military dictatorship. In 1968 performances by a group of poets, singers and composers using the name Tropicalia led to the arrest and exile of their leaders Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. Will Hodgkinson looks for members of the collective in Sao Paulo and the northern state of Bahia, birthplace of veloso and Gil and of other Tropicalia artists such as Tom Ze and Gal Costa.
