Bertolt Brecht, author of The
Threepenny Opera, Mother Courage and Galileo, was born 100 years ago this week. He changed the face of 20th-century drama with his revolutionary ideas, but the ending of the Cold War and the economic boom of the eighties have seen his influence decline. Yet there have been many critically acclaimed productions of his plays in recent years.
