Chris de Souza celebrates the career of the Hungarian-born cellist who would have been 50 this year. Aged just 29 at the time of his death, Igloi was one of the most remarkable musicians of his generation. He sprang to prominence with success at the 1967 BBC Cello Competition before becoming a professor at London's Royal Academy of Music. His sudden death robbed the musical world of a musician of rare insight who left behind just one commercial recording.
