SALVATORE ACCARDO LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA conducted by CHARLES DUTOIT gramophone records
Paganini, born in Genoa, became the greatest violin virtuoso of the 19th century. Amazing stories of his technical feats abounded, and it was even said that he was in league with the devil. Most of his compositions were written, of course, for himself to play on the violin and he guarded them jealously, allowing very few to be published. These programmes include five of his violin concertos.
