Preparations are under way for the transfer of the intensive care unit from the old to the new building in the second and final part of this look at the world-famous children's hospital.
But the new financial climate is also creating problems. Albert Aynsley-Green, Nuffield professor of child health at the hospital says: "We have to find new ways of treating patients and, in particular, making sure the treatment we give is cost-effective and actually delivers a better quality than previously."
Tonight's programme follows 10-year-old Ben [name removed] as he undergoes a major operation to save his hip.
