The Haunted Huntress
The cheetah is a superbly designed hunter, a streamlined sprinter and the fastest animal on the African plains.
"But even an obliging cheetah
Is a great problem to film hunting, says producer Keith Scholey. "She may stalk her prey from perhaps half a mile away and then chase it yards or more. How do you know where to put a camera?"
To achieve such spectacular speed, muscular power has been forfeited and this great hunter has become hunted itself by more powerful rivals. This film, shot by Owen Newman in Kenya's Masai Mara, follows a mother and hercubs and shows her dilemma: should she hunt for food or stay to protect her cubs? Either way there is danger - from starvation or predation.

Admirers of Bubble, Edina's uniquely incompetent PA played by Jane Horrocks, may have been alarmed by her absence from last week's Absolutely Fabulous, the first of the new series. Fear not: Bubble is back, while Jane Horrocks's career proceeds onwards and upwards. Her performance in Jim Cartwright's National Theatre hit The Rise and Fall of Little Voice has been followed by the lead role in the revival of Cabaret, currently the most sought-after ticket In London's West End.
In tonight's episode, Death, Edina's thoughts turn to her own mortality. How would she like to be remembered after her death? Is Saffron really an adequate monument?
