Tim Firth's six-part comic drama comes to an end this week, and at the time of going to press the critical jury is still out. The Daily Express felt it was "too whimsical, well-meaning and well-behaved, but the Daily Mail was lavish in its praise, identifyinga successful new breed of BBC drama including Between the Lines, The Riff Raff Element (which returns for a second series soon) and All Quiet on the Preston Front.
In this week's episode, Kirsty's Biscuit, our heroes take part in battle action in Germany.
