with Desmond Morris and Sarah Kennedy

What is a French seahorse doing on Bodmin Moor? Why does the barn owl fly round in circles? And can HRH the Prince of Wales save Cornwall's most famous bird? Each week Desmond and Sarah explore the relationship between people and the animals in their lives. Today they travel Westward Ho! to enjoy the cream of Cornish animals. Sarah has a date with some baby seals who have found the English Channel a bit too hard to swallow. And in Looe she discovers a common bond between the woolly monkey and the human child.

Meanwhile, Desmond visits the Royal Cornwall Show where 50.000 people have gathered to enjoy the rural air.

from Bridgwater.

A third nuclear power station is a real prospect for people in the Bridgwater area, as Pam Rhodes discovers when she meets Janet Freeman, a scientist who works at the existing Hinkley Point stations.

Alan Lowther explains why his biker's leathers carry an unusual message and Bill Holland describes Bridgwater's carnival - the biggest illuminated procession in the world. They join other local residents to sing their songs of praise in the historic parish church of St Mary's.

Praise, my soul, the king of heaven: Come, let us praise the Lord; Teach me, my God and king (Sandys); You shall go out with joy; Day by day (How); The Lord's my shepherd (Crimond); Father God I wonder; Thy hand, O God, has guided (Thornbury)

Promises to Keep
'If a bird can have a nest and a fox can have a den, then why can't the sen of man have a roof over his head?' In 1984, the American government allowed an abandoned building near
Capitol Hill in Washington to be used as a shelter. Despite being nearly derelict, the building soon housed 800 homeless people. But a series of bureaucratic delays prevented the building being restored and led ultimately to an eviction notice. The four-year battle against the Government was to bring the plight of the homeless to national attention.
The campaign was led by Mitch Snyder , a dedicated but awkward figure prepared to risk his life in the struggle. Assistant producer TESSA GOGOL Producer GINNY DURRIN
