Wimbledon 86
The 100th Lawn Tennis Championships: Ladies' Singles Final
Martina has won four of these on the bounce and if Eastbourne is any guide, and that's what it's there for, she should join the much-revered Mlle Suzanne Lenglen on five. Astonishingly Dan Maskell's will be the first voice you'll hear.

Cricket: Third Test: Cornhill Insurance Series: England v India
At the time of writing bits of the nation had been whipped to near frenzy from Mexico, Gavaskar was thrashing the bowling all over Headingley, and the berry and grape were as yet untroubled at the All England. It doesn't follow necessarily, but at the time of reading, England could be World Soccer Champions and the Tests could be square, Jo Durie could be waiting to go on court, and Bernard Manning could be introducing Songs of Praise. Oh ye of little faith. Benaud, Lewis, Illingworth and Willis line up at Edgbaston - bit thin on batting perhaps?
