Wimbledon 86
The 100th Lawn Tennis Championships: Ladies' Singles Final

(Ceefax subtitles)

Cricket: Third Test: Cornhill Insurance Series: England v India
At the time of writing bits of the nation had been whipped to near frenzy from Mexico, Gavaskar was thrashing the bowling all over Headingley, and the berry and grape were as yet untroubled at the All England. Oh ye of little faith. Benaud, Lewis, Illingworth and Willis line up at Edgbaston - bit thin on batting perhaps?
