Bob Dylan in Don't Look Back
This week Bob Dylan is 45 years old. Tonight Omnibus presents the television premiere of this classic documentary about probably the greatest singersongwriter of his generation. D. A. Pennebaker 's film, a record of Dylan's 1965 British tour, set a style for rock documentaries which has been imitated many times but never equalled. Dylan has constantly guarded his privacy, rarely allowing himself to be filmed, and Don't Look Back remains a unique insight into his personality. Pennebaker observes his wayward subject with cool detachment.
