Blackpool 1933, Snowdonia 1937, a canal trip in the Black Country, called simply Poor People's Outing; and an account of the Warrington Walking Days, combine to show Britain 'having a good time' before the war.

The Story of Thomas Chippendale Presented by Christopher Gilbert
Thomas Chippendale , the greatest English cabinet maker of the 18th century, was born in the Yorkshire market town of Otley in 1718. Although he lived and worked in London for most of his life, he often returned to his native county to supervise the furnishing of great houses. As a result, some of his finest work is to be found in Yorkshire's stately homes.
