Pamela Stephenson
The first in a series of ten programmes about how creative people work and think.
Comedy, fantasy and music are explored behind the scenes with the blonde comedienne from Not The Nine O'Clock News, in which she appears in original costume as Twiggy or Lana Turner , as a yeti or a mouse, impersonating Angela Rippon or Kate Bush , and as herself for photographer Terry Donovan. Also included is a pungent reply to a fan letter, an exploration of female humour at a girls' school and a modern dance routine with robots TIK and TOK. For her finale Pamela serves up a lampoon of the pop industry and her writers, ending with a first performance of a new song.

(the ECONOMIST)
David Dimbleby introduces a major series from CBS Television, presented in four parts. These graphic documentaries had an enormous impact on the American public and critics alike when they were shown earlier in the summer. Made against a background of a massive increase in military spending, they explore the options facing the United States in a new era of super-power rivalry and danger.
1: Ground Zero
How much power has America got in its nuclear arsenal? How would it respond to a nuclear alert?
This film looks at the true state of the nuclear balance between the United States and the Soviet Union, and shows, in a highly dramatic reconstruction, what a genuine nuclear attack would be like for the military men-and for an ordinary family in Omaha, Nebraska.
