Tonight's Songs of Praise comes from the beautiful Priory Church of Cartmel in Cumbria. The Priory was originally founded in 1190 and nestles in a picturesque valley to the south of the lakes. Geoffrey Wheeler meets some of the people of the valley including Malcolm Illingworth. the local vet, and Sister Veronica Mary , a young nun whose order first came to Cartmel almost 800 years ago.
Local choirs and congregations have come to Cartmel Priory to sing their choice of hymns conducted by Cartmel's vicar, The Rev Derrick Stiff.
