With the latest news and information on our wildlife.
Introduced by Tony Soper With SU INGLE; If you live in the middle of London, why not go bird-watching in Regent's Park? Tony spends a morning there watching a colony of herons nest-building.
And how about encouraging garden birds to take up residence near your house? An old boot, nailed to a tree, makes a good nest! And some fur which your cat has moulted makes good nesting material.
How do you go about counting every tree in Great Britain? Su takes a plane trip to see how the Forestry Commission are tackling their mammoth, three-year tree census.
And what green bird that comes from Africa and India, and has a black ring round its neck, is now breeding in south east England-Perhaps too successfully?

Mr Cube Fights Back
' The only white thing about the sugar industry is the end product
(LE CANARD ENCHAINE)
To most of us the only important property of sugar is its sweetness, but to the two huge companies which dominate Britain's sugar industry it means power, profit and jobs. Tate and Lyle dominated the British sugar scene until we joined the Common Market. Since then it has suffered a drastic reversal of fortunes, and power has shifted to home-grown beet sugar and the British Sugar Corporation. This year Tate and Lyle has grasped an opportunity to fight back, and the two are locked in a private battle to decide who is to dominate Britain's sugar in the future.
Judith Hann and Kieran Prendi ville report on the fierce in-fighting and on some of the likely victims in this struggle,
