Twin Towns with Peter Purves in Warsaw and Lesley Judd in Coventry
Coventry was flattened during the Second World War, and Warsaw was systematically destroyed. The Twin Town movement was virtually born in the smoking ruins of Coventry Cathedral.
Peter discovers how Warsaw rose from the ashes, and learns that Chopin, who was a boy in Warsaw 150 years ago, composed the music that is still the voice of Polish freedom.

The West Pacific volcanic islands of New Guinea and New Britain are the settings for some of the world's most spectacular tropical wildlife.

Bower birds lure females by painting and decorating their bachelor pads. Big-footed megapodes dig deep in volcanic incubators. Exotic birds of paradise show off fantastic plumes - adornments that are prized by hill people for ceremonies staged at the cost of thousands of birds' lives.

A Story of survival - Sumatra 1942-5
In the remote jungle prison camps of the East Indies, hundreds of British and Australian women, segregated from the men, fought to stay alive. Their story has been largely forgotten.
In this film some of the survivors from one particular camp tell how they made a life for themselves in the face of starvation and disease.
And two of the women, who returned to Sumatra for the first time since the war, recall the courage, ingenuity and invention needed to live through the years of captivity.
