In the last of four programmes, Robin Day asks Why So Much Crime?

In discussion with The Rt. Hon. Roy Jenkins, M.P., Home Secretary since December 1965 and Lord Butler of Saffron Walden, C.H. Home Secretary 1957-62

This is a unique television encounter. As the climax to the series the present Home Secretary joins a distinguished predecessor to discuss a crucial problem of our society: why, when there is so much more prosperity and welfare, is there so much more crime? Has there been a collapse of moral standards? Are we guilty of creating a society which encourages crime? Have we developed too soft an attitude to criminals?
These programmes are being printed in The Listener.
