E. A. CRADDOCK
Today's broadcast will tell the story of the destruction of the great Hanseatic city of Visby, and will help listeners to understand something of the importance of the Hansa as a trading organisation.
A number of short dramatic interludes will be heard. In the first # these a new apprentice from another German city is being shown round the warehouses, quays, and living quarters of the Hansa merchants. The second interlude will introduce a goldsmith of Visby and his mysterious apprentice. The final scene will tell of the treachery of King Waldemar, and of his destruction of the city's trade.
