This was the cry of a new religion which sprang up in the East about 600 years after Christ, and soon became one of the leading religions ol the world. You will hear today the story of Mahommed, the camel-driver, and the new things that he taught, and how he founded a new faith.

' Food Chains '

Animals either feed on plants or else they feed on other animals which eat plants. Often there are chains of animals, each link in the chain feeding on the next link, while the last animal link in the chain eats plants. For instance, lions eat zebras, and zebras eat grass. In fresh water, tiny pond-weeds are eaten by water-fleas which are the food of minnows, while minnows are eaten by trout, and trout in turn are gobbled up by herons. Animals which kill and eat others are usually bigger than their prey, but the prey are usually more numerous than the animals which eat them. This is an outline of the talk that Professor Munro Fox is to give today.

' Successful Farming'

Successful farming is a problem that has exercised the human mind since the dawn of history. At all times and in all ages there have been people who have been successful in the fickle art of agriculture. Today Mr. Mansfield is to discuss this subject in relation to present-day ideas. It is his farewell talk so far as this series is concerned. A great number of listeners will miss his talks on Wednesday evenings, but he has once again to devote his whole attention to the interests of the Cambridge University School of Agriculture. He will be followed next week by another popular broadcaster, Anthony Hurd.

The celebrations in Australia will last for three months, but today marks their official opening. In addition to the address by Lord Wakehurst, listeners will hear a recorded commentary on some of the events which took place earlier in the day in Australia-that is, of course. last night by Greenwich time. The events to be covered include a description of the water pageant in Sydney Harbour, representing the landing of Governor Phillip, and also a commentary on the Big Game Angling Championship of the World. The descriptions will be given by an observer stationed on the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge.
