Compiled by J. A. Camacho and played by the BBC Military Band
Conductor, P. S. G. O'Donnell
Military band arrangements by Gilbert Vinter
Presented by J. P. Sutherland
This series of programmes gives the BBC Military Band an opportunity to display the versatility of its members and to include music which is not usually to be found in the repertoire of this type of combination. As its title implies, the music is from the Western Hemisphere and South America in particular, and this evening listeners will be introduced to the music of Venezuela and Bolivia. Each composition is the genuine article, having been sent over from the country of its origin.

Tonight we have the second edition of the monthly magazine of Scottish affairs and events, which has been given the title of 'Tak Tent', which might be anglicised into the call of the town crier, Oyez ! ' Listeners who heard the first edition early in November, will remember that into this half-hour is packed all the ingredients of the printed periodical. There is a leader written and spoken by Professor J. D. Mackie , a woman's page conducted by Elizabeth Craig , a running ballad on recent Scottish events, and other topical short features. There is something for everybody in ' Tak Tent " and the second edition promises to establish it as a monthly favourite.

Mozart's Symphony No. 36, in C, is called ' The Linz ' because it was written in the town of Linz. While staying there in 1783 with a certain Count Thun, Mozart gave a special concert. It is more than probable that he is referring to the ' Linz ' Symphony in the following letter: ' As I have not a single symphony with me, I am writing one for dear life, to be ready in time.'
with Gloria Brent , Buddy Loman , Edna Kaye , Doreen Stephens , and Rudy Starita
