Marie Korchinska (harp)
Marie Korchinska, who was born in Moscow, studied at the Conservatoire there, winning its much-coveted gold medal. Soon afterwards she became harp professor in succession to her teacher. She has lived in England for many years and has frequently broadcast. Gaby Valle, who is also well known to listeners, was born in Cairo. She studied under the famous maestro Baraldi and has sung all over the Continent. Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole for violin, and orchestra with the BBC Northern Orchestra
Conducted by Maurice Johnstone
Eda Kersey is practically a self-taught violinist. After only a year or two's tuition she developed her playing by studying and by constant attendance at concerts at which great violinists were appearing.
Her first important engagement was in 1925, when she played Mendelssohn's Concerto at the old Bournemouth studio. Since then, she has broadcast frequently.
