April in the county of Down! Joseph Tomelty , a Down man himself, takes you from where ' the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea', along the white twisting roads and lanes of Northern Ireland to Portaferry, where he was born, and into the very hearts of the kindly country folk, painting a picture of life as it is at the moment, when the sounds and scents of spring are in the air.

A programme of gramophone records presented by Christopher Stone
A talk by Hamilton Snowball
This is the first of a series of three or four broadcasts in which Hamilton Snowball will tell of his own part in the hunt for a genuine two-million-pound treasure buried on a lonely atoll in the Pacific. His is no pipe-dream treasure, but the real thing-red gold, rubies, candlesticks, rings and diamonds, stolen from a wealthy Peruvian church some ninety years ago, and buried by its thieves on the island of Tuamotu.
Many attempts have been made to secure this fabulous hoard, and the broadcaster himself hopes one day to return and continue his search which has already been rewarded with partial success.
