Ernest Leggett and the Continental Players broadcast their first characteristic programme of Continental music in May, 1937, and have since been responsible for the introduction into this country of a great many Continental tunes that have subsequently become popular. Among the more notable of these are Marquina's ' Spanish Gypsy Dance', and the popular tango song, 'Play to me, Gypsy '.
Leggett has been broadcasting since 1927, and has brought four combinations to the microphone, including the Continental Players.

John Reynders, who is as well known in the theatre and on the screen as he is on the air, formed his orchestra for broadcasting in 1935 and they have been constantly before the microphone ever since. He was playing professionally when he was thirteen, was musical director for The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse at the Palace, and for Ben Hur at the Tivoli. Among the many films for which he has arranged music is Night Alone, starring Emlyn Williams.
Don Redman (alto-sax)
Presented by Charles Chilton
Don Redman is an almost unique figure in the world of jazz. Although he is pre-eminently an alto saxophone player, Redman can play, and has played, every instrument in the dance band, and is also able to sing any jazz number required of him.
Redman was at one time with Louis Armstrong , though it is a selection of records of his own band that will be heard this afternoon.
