followed by COCHRAN SHOWS
Records of songs from shows produced by Charles B. Cochran
Probably no West - End showman since the last war has been responsible for introducing more stars or more song-hits to the public than C. B. Cochran. The term ' Cochran show ' is its own cachet, and there have been Cochran shows almost beyond the counting.
This programme will recall some of the best-known Cochran numbers, and introduce some of the artists who helped to make them famous. Cochran's recorded voice will introduce a selection from shows such as As You Were, On With the Dance, Blackbirds, and This Year of Grace. Among the stars who will be heard are Ivy St. Helier, Jessie Matthews ,
Gertrude Lawrence , and Georges Metaxa.

The story adapted for broadcasting by Marianne Helweg
Produced by John Cheatle
This is an adaptation of an 'Our Bill ' story, namely that of Master Martin Judson 's black pony, Polly, and how she beat the Slopton black horse at the races.
For the past two years Slopton had been defeated and they were more than ever resolved that this year should see a change of fortune. Their new black horse was a wonderful jumper, but there was something very queer about him, something which was eventually discovered by Joe Allen. After that everything was easy.
