Director Thomas Heurlin's film documents the fractious relationship between himself and his daughter Karina, who was conceived as a result of a one-night stand when he was 17. Heurlin initially refused to have anything to do with her, despite verification that he was her father. But at the age of 10 she asked to meet him. They gradually developed a tentative liaison which this film shows evolving through the years, as Karina herself becomes pregnant and the two struggle to reach an understanding.
