The Serbs and the Nazis. The
Nazi occupation of Serbia from 1941-5 is still regarded by Belgrade as a defining period for the Serb identity. It was a time when the country portrayed itself as a vigorous opponent of Hitler, and some 40,000 Serbs were "ethnically cleansed" by Kosovan Albanians. However, as this Leviathan special reveals, interviews with German officers and Serb resistance members indicate that many Serbs did in fact become collaborators, and opposition to the Nazis was less strong than memories might suggest.

Dress for Success. The last programme in the series looks at the daily dilemma women face when dressing for work. It charts the change in attitudes towards acceptable work wear, beginning in the 1950s when cumbersome underwear restricted women's fashion choices. The humble pair of tights changed all this and paved the way for short skirts in the 1970s and the padded shoulders of the 1980s.
