For years the Unita rebels in Angola have been the subject of extraordinary accusations. Their leader, Jonas Savimbi , was variously described as a Maoist, Stalinist, and a puppet of apartheid, his army branded as bandits and torturers. But after 16 years of civil war against Angola's Marxist government, Unita stands on the brink of power.
Nick Downie investigates whether the accusations against them are true or just propaganda.
