Wildlife Showcase 8.30 pm BBC2
'When we watch natural history films it's sometimes difficult to imagine the hardships involved,' says David Cabot, whose chronicle of the Inishkea Islands off the north-west coast of Ireland completes the Wildlife Showcase trilogy. 'I hope that the drama comes over in Wild Islands, particularly of the storms. When we were filming the baby seals on the island of Duvillaun Mor we were marooned for a fortnight. I recalled while we were huddled in the tent that David Lean went to Portugal to film the storms for Ryan's Daughter. I didn't have to bother - it's quite dangerous enough on the doorstep!'
