The road to Dunkirk became the final resting place for more than 80 soldiers half a century ago serving with the Royal Warwickshire
Regiment, the Cheshires and the Royal Artillery. Of all the stories that came out of the evacuation of Allied Forces in 1940, theirs has to be one of the most horrifying: a massacre by the SS, extraordinary acts of courage, and accusations against one of Hitler's most important generals. The case has never been resolved and the former general lives in comparative luxury in West Germany. In this programme, two of the survivors return to Flanders to tell their story.
