Every year between 150 and 200 children die following physical abuse or neglect in their own homes. Thousands more are found to be at risk.
For the last six weeks, this series of films has followed one NSPCC Child Protection Team based in Lincoln.
Watching them at work raises many questions - from the real size of the problem to the level of training and resources available to deal with it.
