Most people believe their home is their castle. But it isn't. If the council want it, it's theirs. Billy and Gordon Howard still believe Rose Cottage belongs to them. Barnsley Council knows better. It has placed a compulsory purchase order on the cottage and surrounding land.
The bachelor brothers, aged 65 and 73, are set in then-ways and absolutely refuse to budge.
Since this film was first shown, hundreds of people have written to ask what happened to the brothers.
In this updated version of the film, which was the BAFTA award-winner for the best factual series of this year, and nominated for the Prix Italia award, the struggle draws to a close. Billy and Gordon threaten to use their shotgun when the bailiffs arrive. Photography

or How Sam Colt Changed America
The American Wild West was the America of cowboys and frontier towns. Of Dodge City, Wichita and Abilene. A land celebrated in 2,000 Western movies. But were the movies fact or fantasy?
The Wild West lasted only 15 years. During that time, lawmen lived longer and citizens experienced less crime than in the cities of the eastern United States.
But Sam Colt , the huckster, showman and libertine who invented the first practical revolver, gave America a new idea of itself. America became a gun culture. This film, with the help of Hollywood, shows how. Film editor DICK ALLEN

Wild Western parody is the tale of how a black sheriff saves the town of Rock Ridge from a crooked speculator - but only after a great deal of inspired lunacy has been unleashed with the help of the alcoholic, once-legendary Waco Kid, the super-sexy Lili von Shtupp and Brooks himself.

'I don't try and analyse too much. I think it is dangerous, it is like believing your own myth. I try and keep away from all that, I always try and write instinctively and hope it comes out right.'
(PAUL MCCARTNEY , 1986)
At the beginning of September Paul McCartney released Press to Play, his
15th album since the Beatles broke up in 1970. In a recent programme Paul talked in detail about his hugely successful solo career. This specially extended version includes additional, previously unseen, archive footage of McCartney and Wings in performance and unseen film of the Beatles at work in Studio 2, Abbey Road in the early 60s.
